The established and practised quality management system at the Institute of Aerospace Systems (ILR)
is undergoing a process of continual improvement. It is based on DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and is mandatory for the
whole institute and all staff members. Furthermore appropriate advices from the DIN EN ISO 9004 guidelines have been included.
The ILR quality management system excludes none of the DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 demands.
The usage of the ILR quality management system is guided by the following policies:
- customer focus
- objective oriented leadership and involvement of staff members in a motivating environment of the institute.
- process and system oriented approach to management (leading and controlling the workflow in research and education in a system of connected processes)
- continual improvement
- factual approach to decision making (decisions are based on the analysis of data and information)
- mutually beneficial supplier relationships (effective and efficient collaboration with the divisions of the Technische Universität and external partners)
The Institute of Aerospace Systems has established regulations for the organisational and operational structure. The organisational structure coordinates the connections between the organisational units human, task, material resource and information; within the operational structure the ILR designs and describes its processes.
The institute´s head is primarily responsible for the quality management system and the
enforcement of the quality objectives. A QM-delegate is appointed for planning,
supervising and updating the quality management system. Every staff member of the ILR
is bound to observe the rules of his remit and to take active part in improving the system.
